Hmmmm, this looks like something I could use....

I downloaded the user's manual from Roland too. I wish this brain came with some 'tuned' percussion too - like maybe marimbas etc.

Nice dsop. That seems to be best option for my needs too. Does anyone know if the set is considered "high end" or a cheaper solution?

    The TD3 is Roland's "bottom-end" module.

    The full range goes:

    TD3
    TD6
    TD8 (obsolete)
    TD10 (obsolete)
    TD12
    TD20

The TD8 and TD10 are still available used on eBay, and are still decent. The TD12 is the newest, and the 3 and 20 came out a little over a year ago.

    Yamaha's range goes:

    DTXplorer
    DTXpress (obsolete)
    DTXpressII (obsolete)
    DTXpressIII
    DTX (obsolete)
    DTXtreme (obsolete)
    DTXtremeIIs

Again, all obsolete modules tend to be available on eBay, though the DTXtreme is very rare now. Of the obsolete ones, I think I would only consider the DTXpressII. The DTXpressIII and DTXtremeIIs came out a little over a year ago, and the DTXplorer is brand new.
